The Night of Evolution
Posted : 11 months, 1 week ago on 29 November 2008 04:00
(A review of WWE - Armageddon 2003)Armageddon is the final WWE PPV event of the year and Raw hosted this show in Orlando, Florida at TD Waterhouse Centre now known as Amway Arena. The poster of the event features Triple H and the titantron features the symbol of Triple H. The tagline for the event is "Evolution of The Game" mostly this is a PPV features evolution. The first match was Mark Henry vs Booker T before the match there is a recap of what happend to get to this match it shows you various of different weeks of Booker T been attacked by Mark Henry. The match is not to bad for an opener some decent moves even Booker T hits the scissors kick on Henry 2 times. The next match was the Intercontinental Championship match with Rob Van Dam vs Randy Orton and this match is one of the best that this event has to offer it features great moves by both men in my opinion it's one of the best matches of the night. Trish Stratus and Lita vs Chris Jericho and Christian - this match is nothing special Trish and Lita 2 great wrestlers but putting them in a match like this was wrong. Shawn Michaels vs Batista - Before this match there is a recap leading to the match it replays the destruction Batista does to Shawn Michaels now remember Batista was a heel back in 2003 which is when he was interesting. The match is good Shawn Michaels pulls off some great moves and as the ending it's quite exciting. Maven vs Matt Hardy - This is not a match at all it doesn't officially start Batista is still in the ring after the last match Maven comes out getting ready for the match Matt Hardy starts beating up Maven then throws him in the ring with Batista. Batista then gives Maven 2 Batista bombs and Maven is out. The tag team turmoil I haven't watch this one yet but I'll update it when I do. Triple H vs Goldberg vs Kane - Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship - The intro video to this match was actually good but I just don't really understand how Kane comes into this I know Triple H and Goldberg had a long feud over 2003. The match I did enjoy Triple H doesn't really do much Kane does quite a lot during the match and I have to admit some of the looks on Kane's face was funny. Goldberg didn't really give top performance which I thought was a shame. The ending of the match was awful it was the worst part of the match altogether. Triple H vs Goldberg from Survivor Series 2003 was better. The extras on this you get Booker T and Stacy with the "Leg-o-Roonie" this segment is nothing interesting at all. The Return of Mick Foley - This is a good extra featuring Foley as GM of Raw I never knew that he was I wasn't watching WWE at that time that was when we got rid of the channels to watch WWE. The Rock returns - This is about 17 to 19 minutes it features La Resistance and Mick Foley this is a great segment which I am glad that this was added to the DVD. Mark Henry's Recent Rampage - This extra just skip it nothing special at all who cares about this because I certainly don't. The rest are promos and interviews there is quite a lot of them which is a good thing because more extras the more value for money I think. Oh and there is another match this is in the extras Heidenreich vs Rico this was from Sunday Night Heat this match is short and the outcome is pathetic Rico defeating Heidenreich what a joke this guy would later feud with Undertaker during 2004 and 2005. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
WWE - Hell in a Cell
Posted : 11 months, 3 weeks ago on 14 November 2008 02:56
(A review of WWE - Hell in a Cell)WWE Hell in a Cell a structure set to case pain and blood the cell made it's debut in 1997 when Shawn Michaels and Undertaker were the first of many to step into the cell. This DVD showcases 14 of the best Hell in a Cell matches presented by Mick Foley who has pretty much made the Hell in a Cell a classic match. Now from Silvervision they give you a limited edition package which there is only 2000 in Europe I got number 1005 which I am extremely happy to have this in my collection. Now back to this DVD like most WWE collections it features an intro to the match a bit of detail then shows you clips of what's happened to get to that match then goes into the match. So right now I'll review certain matches. Hell in a Cell - Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - Badd Blood (October 5, 1997) This is the very first match featuring the Hell in a Cell and features some good action Shawn Michaels beating up a camera man, shoving the camera out of his way. Undertaker beating the hell out of Shawn Michaels and busts him open this is a great match one of the best on the set. This match is also the debut of Kane which I thought the interference kind of spoiled the match. The footage goes off in parts as it looks like it's been transfered off a VHS tape. Tag Team Hell in a Cell Match - Stone Cold Steve Austin & Undertaker vs. Mankind & Kane - RAW (June 15, 1998) This match is short and it is not in the Cell for that long only Undertaker beating the hell out of Paul Bearer I think it lasts for 5 mins but the match cuts off when Stone Cold starts beating up Kane on top of the Cell. Hell in a Cell - Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring (June 28, 1998) This is the most memorable Hell in a Cell match and has one of the most played footage in WWE history the very match where Undertaker throws Mankind (Mick Foley from the top of the cell. I don't even need to go on with this match any WWE fan should have seen it by now. I am going to skip the next match that other match was Mankind vs Kane from Raw now I'll skip to No Way Out 2000 Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship (Cactus Jack’s Career is on the Line) - Triple H vs. Cactus Jack - No Way Out (February 27, 2000) This match is a classic this has Foley falling from the top of the cell and going threw it and this match is fantastic this is one that people will have seen on the Triple H King of Kings DVD. Six-Man Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship - Kurt Angle vs. Rikishi vs. The Rock vs. Undertaker vs. Triple H vs. Steve Austin - Armageddon (December 10, 2000) We have seen 2 men in a cell almost 4 but never really happened well for the first time Six men would wrestle in the dangerous cell. During the match because McMahon wants this match to stop he gets constructors to try and rip the cell down however they manage to rip off the door. How before this match you had the story of Stone Cold been hit by a car from Rikishi with plans by Triple H. The story also sees the rivalry of Rikishi and The Rock then Kurt Angle and Stone Cold. In this match you see Stone Cold dragging Triple H head all around the cell and even throwing a camera in the face of Triple H. Now we also witness Rikishi been thrown off the Cell by a chokeslam from the Undertaker. I remember this match very well and certainly it is a classic which lasts for 40 minutes. There is editing in this match as Undertakers theme song that was on here was Kid Rock - American Bad Ass and this song has been changed to a generic theme. Now for the rest of the matches on this 3 disc set I won't go into anymore detail because any WWE fan should know what to expect in the Hell in a Cell. Just don't expect seeing Undertaker vs Edge from Summerslam 2008 because you won't see it here as this was filmed before that match took place. Thankfully the DVD doesn't show Big Bossman vs Undertaker from WrestleMania 15 I hate the ending where Bossman is hung from the cell because it's one of the worst that I have seen. The truth is the best matches in my opinion are on Disc 1, Disc 2 is not that bad (I have most matches on Disc 2 on the other events that I have on DVD, and Disc 3 is good specially Batista vs Undertaker from Survivor Series 2007 mostly because of the shocking ending. The whole DVD is worth watching and owning it is enjoyable and if you like a bit of hardcore wrestling it is featured here this is one of the best WWE sets since the Ladder Match DVD and Hell in a Cell is a big part of WWE which makes this a must own for any WWE fan. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
WWE - 'Cause Stone Cold Said So review
Posted : 1 year ago on 5 November 2008 05:27
(A review of WWE - 'Cause Stone Cold Said So)In 1998 on VHS came Cause Stone Cold Said So and in 2004 DVD re-released the DVD (if you live in Europe Silver Vision re-released it). The show is narrated by Stone Cold who talks on about how tough he is the show features highlights of Stone Colds first year with WWE. There is highlights that feature Stone Colds King of the Ring win featuring parts of matches with Marc Mero and Jake the Snake Roberts. During Stone Colds match with Mero you will notice that Stone Colds lip starts to bleed and this is where he needed stitches but never mind he would later become King of The Ring after beating Jake The Snake. It takes highlights of some great moments with Stone Cold and with him providing his own voice over just makes the show fun to watch. The main parts in this was his feud with Bret the Hitman Hart at least 22 minutes of this shows highlights of the I Quit match from WrestleMania 13 the match were Stone Cold passed out. The show also shows you some moments with Brian Pillman but the show does pretty much end with Shawn and Stone Cold wining the tag team titles. Overall This DVD is entertaining but it has been edited the swearing is now beeped out which I own it on VHS which was unedited. However if you like Stone Cold you will enjoy what he does have to say because most things he said made me laugh. I think it is a much watch it is good to see this of Stone Cold though I wish it would of shown some of the classic promos like the one with the cops and talking about Dunkin Donuts now that I thought was funny. It only funs for 59 minutes it's short but quite fun and enjoyable. The DVD features NO EXTRAS. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
WWE - Judgment Day 2008 review
Posted : 1 year ago on 5 November 2008 05:12
(A review of WWE - Judgment Day 2008)WWE Judgment Day 2008 was in Omaha, Nebraska at the Qwest Center Omaha arena which was on May 18 2008. This is the 10th Judgment Day as the event first started in 1998. The poster/DVD Cover shows Triple H in a prison but wouldn't this poster sound better if it went with No Way Out because to be honest it suits it a whole lot more John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs John Cena I am sick of watching these 2 wrestle the matches are slow and I got to admit Cena is a bit pathetic at wrestling but we have seen JBL & Cena battle tons of times and really it never changes John Morrison and The Miz vs Kane and CM Punk - Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship I never did watch this match my reason was because John Morrison & The Miz I am not to keen on plus Kane and CM Punk is just a weird team. Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels Jericho and Michaels have had great matches from WrestleMania 19, some of there classic matches from Raw. Before the match starts it plays a video package about Shawn lying about his knee at Backlash then turning on Jericho by giving him a sweet chin music. The match is really entertaining and features a lot of technical wrestling it is enjoyable out of the whole event this has the best build up to this match. You also pretty much witness why Jericho turns heel which he does. Mickie James vs Beth Phoenix vs Melina - Triple Threat match for the WWE Women's Championship I am not one for diva matches I always did enjoy Trish or Lita's matches and a certainly loved Mickie James as a heel but the quality of womens wrestling went down hill with Mickie James turning to a babyface. Beth Phoenix plays the heel and I am not sure about Melina sort of mixed. The match is short only lasting near 5 minutes long but even for that time this is enjoyable. A highlight to this match has to be Beth Phoenix double backbreaker to both Mickie James and Melina it looked quite awesome. I am very impressed with this match it's short but very exciting best diva match I have seen in quite sometime. The Undertaker vs Edge Singles match for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship The battle of Undertaker and Edge keeps going on well Undertaker beat Edge at Backlash using the chokehold I can't remember what it's called. On an episode of SmackDown Undertaker gets stripped of having the title for using the Illegal chokehold. The match is quite entertaining featuring quite a bit of reversals which really keep you on the edge of your seat. This is not the best match that both of these men have had possibly weaker due to the ending which I thought was disappointing because this match was going great. What I really do like about this match is commentary that Foley provides who really makes the match enjoyable. Vickie Guerrero makes an appearance at the end of the match saying something that the people will hate. Montel Vontavious Porter vs Jeff Hardy This match wasn't originally on the Judgment Day card it seemed to be set up last minute. MVP says why hasn't he got a match on the card, etc. Matt Hardy comes out and introduces the returning Jeff Hardy. This match I found quite boring not much really did happen during the match but I think you should check out the Summerslam match it was better. Triple H vs Randy Orton - Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship This is the main event and the longest match of the event and to be honest this is not the best cage match but I guess it's alright. From what I remember of this match is Randy tries to get out of the cage many times but fails with Triple H dragging him back in. However for a steel cage match it is quite shocking to see no blood. The ending is quite a disappointment but the match was decent. Extras WWE have added 2 DVD features to the DVD which you shouldn't be surprised because these are short as always. Todd Grisham interviews Jeff Hardy This interview lasts for 30 seconds just after Jeff Hardy's match with MVP where he talks about what he lost his house and his dog due to a fire. This is quite interesting and I would have liked it to be more expanded on but 30 seconds is just to short SmackDown – 09/05/08 Chase For The Gold Well this extra is one of the worst I have seen on a WWE DVD this is the same recap video that is shown during the promo video between Edge and Undertaker during the event. The problem is WWE could have shown the match but instead they were lazy and kept it pretty much as highlights. But what makes me wonder was why stick this on the DVD if it was featured on the Judgment Day 2008 event it's pointless. Overall Judgment Day 2008 is a whole lot better then last years that one was awful at least this features enjoyable matches. The best matches of the event have to be Edge vs Undertaker, Jericho vs Michaels, Mickie James vs Beth Phoenix vs Melina. I got to say I the DVD on ebay for £5 which for sure the event was worth it having it on DVD. This may not be the best show of 2008 but it was quite decent featuring some enjoyable events. A huge shame as always is WWE giving us terrible DVD extras. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
The Night WWE goes Extreme
Posted : 1 year, 1 month ago on 7 October 2008 05:09
(A review of WWE - One Night Stand 2008)One Night Stand started off as an ECW event that WWE produced in 2005 which came back under the ECW banner in 2006 both were at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York. In 2007 WWE put all three brands together on the Pay Per Views so now it would be WWE One Night Stand and hosted every year but not not the Hammerstein Ballroom. 2007 of One Night Stand was a weak show it never did beat the first 2 events from 2005 and 2006 due to it having weak matches but 2008 of One Night Stand did improve on by a lot. So let's now get into this review Falls Count Anywhere Match Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga The falls count anywhere match this was a great opener and what I did enjoy about this match is both Umaga and Jeff Hardy pull off some great moves. I haven't seen a match that has been outside of the arena in ages and this reminds me an Hardcore title match. The highlight of this match was Jeff Hardy sliding down the banister on the stairs then doing a cross body on Umaga anything could of gone wrong there and it was just exciting to watch. The swanton bomb from the top of the truck was quite awesome I just didn't think much of the camera angles. (What I find annoying is that Jeff shows great skill in matches but he gets WWE Championship shots and WWE screw him out of it and make him lose) Singapore Cane Match Big Show vs. John Morrison vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk I didn't think I would enjoy this match but I thought it was fantastic for some odd reason Big Show did make me laugh. This is also the match where Big Show's face above his eye is cut by John Morrison knocking him and hitting his face on the corner of the steel steps. The part that I did enjoy was Big Show getting mad and just getting the Singapore Cage and just hitting Miz and Morrison over and over. A great part of the match was Morrison trying to dive at Big Show from the ring to the out side where Big Show just hits him with the cane. Very entertaining match indeed. "I Quit" Match Melina vs. Beth Phoenix All I can say about this match is it's just shocking the way Beth just bends Melina's body the thing is I never did hear her say she Quits though it would of been great for Melina to win. Stretcher Match Shawn Michaels vs. Batista I will checking out this match when I feel like it I never watched it as I am not that keen on Batista I couldn't care less about him and I think Shawn Michaels is pretty good. But the main reason is I am just not a fan of the stretcher match I find them quite boring to be honest. First Blood Match John Cena vs. JBL The first blood match is the worst match on the event the Divas match is even better. This match is to slow which to be honest it is worth a skip. Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship Triple H vs. Randy Orton Another injury appears on the event Big Show gets hurt now Randy Orton does. This is the very match were Orton breaks his collarbone due to a bad fall. The match is not as long of course the thing that annoys me is although Randy gets injured these people at the event boo him and don't cheer him. One guy tries talking hard you see Orton say something back then the ref just shoving the guy back it's quite funny actually. Check out the part where Orton tells the crowed to shut the f**k up (But WWE have edited it out on the DVD but it may be on youtube somewhere). Even though Orton breaks his collarbone Triple H still knocks him back down by the sledgehammer. The match is not bad but the people could of shown some support for Randy Orton. TLC Match for the World Heavyweight Championship Edge vs Undertaker This was one of the main reasons why I bought this event on DVD because I never buy the event I don't have Sky Sports so I have to wait at least 4 to 3 month to watch this as it takes ages to come on DVD. Edge and Undertaker without of a doubt is one of the best rivalry's of 2008 it will go in the history records for sure. This is Undertaker's first TLC match and he done pretty good but Edge brought out some of the best of the Undertaker. There is a lot of people going threw the tables Hawk and Ryder, Edge and Undertaker going threw 4 tables. This is also the match where if Undertaker loses he would leave WWE forever but we all knew he was just taking a break. This is a classic match and is the match of the night. DVD Extras: 4 Historical Undertaker Moments • Survivor Series 1990 • King of the Ring 1998 • Royal Rumble 2007 • WrestleMania 23 The DVD extras feature 4 highlights of Undertaker moments which are nothing interesting as I have seen these before and these last for about 1 minute or just under each. The DVD could of shown some footage of Big Show's eye, it should of shown Randy Orton getting attended to after breaking his collar bone. What about the great segments with Edge on SmackDown why won't WWE put some of them in or even interviews it's annoying a great event with bad DVD Extras. It always seems that WWE are lazy with the extras. I highly recommend this DVD as it does show some great wrestling action just the DVD Extras. The shocking thing though that the British Board of Film Classification give it a 15 rating I thought this would of at least got a an 18 due to some of the shocking stuff in the event and Big Show getting injured. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
WWE Summerslam 2008 Review
Posted : 1 year, 2 months ago on 18 August 2008 09:08
(A review of WWE: Summerslam 2008)August 17, 2008 Summerslam took place at Indianapolis, Indiana and this event was good better then last years. The thing is though they advertise Rey Mysterio at the start of the show but yet he was not on the show at all. So anyway lets get into the event Montel Vontavious Porter VS Jeff Hardy This was a good match by both men and the ending just shocked me the match really did show how good MVP is but the ending I never wished happen with Shelton helping MVP to pick up the win. 6.5/10 Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix VS Kofi Kingston and Mickie James - Intercontinental Championship and Womens Championship on the line. I can hardly call this a good match Santino hardly does nothing he acts like a girl he was pathetic because Beth did most of the work during the match. Now the match with Beth doing The Glam Slam I think it is to Mickie James. Now I wanted Mickie and Kofi to win but Beth is a good wrestler and she did some pretty good moves in the match. Now Santino is a joke and should not of got the Intercontinental championship. 5/10 Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) VS Matt Hardy - ECW Championship This match was crap only lasting 32 seconds all because Tony Atlas gets Mark Henry disqualified in order for Mark Henry to keep the ECW Championship. This was just Bull S*it and really why advertise this and why let it happen at a PPV its just pathetic. Though at the end the Jeff helps Matt so that was good. The match gets 1/10 while the part with the Hardys gets 4/10 I would of liked to have seen more of the Hardys. CM Punk VS John "Bradshaw" Layfield - World Heavyweight Championship I could not care less what happened I don't really care about CM Punk I don't mind him but this match for me was more like a sleeper. 2/10 Triple H VS The Great Khali - WWE Championship I knew this match was going to be horrible and it was Triple H was getting beat up most of the way threw the match all of a sudden Triple H does a pedigree and Khali was going it looked pathetic and even the people were shouting to Khali you can't wrestle. Good that Triple H kept the title cause Khali is pathetic. 3/10 John Cena VS Batista This match was made more of a fuss of then The Hell in A Cell who cares if it was the first game these 2 were VS each other. This match was quite good John Cena looked a bit pathetic with the STFU on Batista looked fake as hell. Though the highlight of that match was Cena jumping of the top rope and getting the Batista bomb. Batista beating John Cena was good great when John Cena loses I can't really stand him. 7/10 The Undertaker VS Edge - Hell in a Cell Now this was the match I was waiting to see Undertaker and Edge and to the feud was the best led up to this match was brilliant. The whole match was enjoyable and really best match of the year so far. The cage smashed at the side Edge done a spear to Undertaker through the Spanish announcers table. Edge gets chokeslammed through a table. I am going to skip to the end everything Edge done to Undertaker he did to Edge hitting him with a camera Edge getting a spear Edge been hit a One man con–chair–to. The end was just good Edge getting chokeslammed off the ladders and through the ring where fire came out at the end. Both men give a great match it was enjoyable and it was well worth staying up till 4am to watch it. 9.5/10 it is the best Hell in Cell match I have seen in a long time. Update: Now watching the DVD WWE have made editing to the crowd by trying to cut out the swearing. Another Edit takes place in the hell in a cell match the part where Edge gets thrown of the ladder it goes into a Undertaker video thing with little girls laughing a bit hard to explain but it wrecks the whole thing. The DVD extras are bad you get a boring ECW match the rematch with Mark Henry and Matt Hardy its a waste of time. a 45 second segment of WWE Summerfest and an awful segment with Shawn Michaels which is just lifeless. Hey WWE add something worth next where the hell in Edge's fantastic segments leading up to SummerSlam those needed to be added but anyway they should on on Edge's WWE DVD. WWE need to improve on there DVD extras because they just suck. As for Summerslam it's a great event 0 comments, Reply to this entry
WWE Survivor Series 2006 could of been better
Posted : 1 year, 3 months ago on 3 August 2008 06:01
(A review of WWE - Survivor Series 2006)WWE Survivor Series is one of my favorite WWE events I like the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches but on this event it just feels like squash matches and some could of gone a whole lot better. With this been the 20th Survivor Series there should of been better matches and a big celebration sadly not much to be happy about. Traditional Survivor Series Match [Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Ron Simmons & Sgt. Slaughter vs. Kenny, Johnny, Nicky & Mikey] To be honest I am not a fan of Ric Flair the only guy I did like in this match was Ron Simmons cause to me he's entertaining and was great back in the APA with JBL. The match is not bad but it just puts me off with the Spirit Squad been in the match as that team just sucked. So don't hate on me with me not been a fan of Ric Flair. United States Championship Match [Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero] The build up to this match was quite good and the match was fairly decent and Chavo does improve during the match but for me it's not one match that I could keep attention to. I also got to say I can't no longer watch a Chris Benoit match after knowing he killed his Wife and Child which makes me sick. Women's Championship Match [Lita vs. Mickie James] I like Lita but she got nothing but disrespected I know shes done bad things but fans calling a hoe is just wrong after everything she did in WWE. This is her final WWE event and match before she retired like Trish Stratus did back at Unforgiven 2006. Trish got to leave with the title but sadly for Lita she loses it and just gets a whole load of disrespect. You got Cryme Tyme selling some of Lita's personal stuff the thing was a little funny just I would of liked to have seen Lita got the respect she deserves. As for the match Mickie James and Lita do both put on a good match. Traditional Survivor Series match [D-Generation X, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy & CM Punk vs. Randy Orton, Edge, Johnny Nitro, Gregory Helms & Mike Knox] This match I should say is just like a squash match I like Team D-X and Team Rated RKO but some of this match was pathetic. Mike Knox is the first one out only been in the match for 5 seconds before Shawn Michaels hits a Sweet Chin Music on Knox then he's out. I am going to skip to the end Rated RKO get dominated leaving none of Team D-X to get eliminated I think Randy Orton and Edge should of at least had a chance. The Hardys do offer some great work during the match which I do think they are one of the greatest teams in WWE any of there matches or involved in are enjoyable. First Blood Match [Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy] Mr Kennedy is on a losing streak on the PPV's in 2006 wasn't he well he lost at No Mercy a month before this event and lost a month after in the fantastic Last Ride Match at Armageddon 2006. Mr Kennedy makes Under bleed first but then Mr Kennedy gets a hell of a beating. This match is enjoyable both Undertaker and Kennedy do work well together in the match but I recommend checking out the match from Armageddon 2006 it is the better match. Traditional Survivor Series Match [John Cena, Kane, Bobby Lashley, Rob Van Dam & Sabu vs. Big Show, Umaga, Finlay, MVP & Test] We all knew the out come of this match Cena Team was going to win well Umaga gets himself eliminated he gets the monitors and starts hitting other wrestlers I think it was Sabu and RVD I didn't pay much attention. The best part of the match for me was Test big boot to RVD's face it just looked fantastic. The most annoying though about this match is the likes of RVD, Sabu, Kane just teaming up with Cena to me it's just a weird team. Sabu hardly gets a chance if this was the old ECW this guy would take more damage but no gets eliminated after a chokeslam from the Big Show if it was the old ECW he would of kicked out of it. Then we get Bobby Lashley I hate him he's just like a bad version of Brock Lesnar (I like Brock Lesnar by the way) which picks up the win with Cena. World Heavyweight Championship Match [King Booker vs. Batista] The promo bit before the match was put together well and I did enjoy this match until the end. King Booker gets a lot of the offence on Batista but the ending has King Booker having the title and trying to hit Batista he dodges out of the way Batista gets the title and hits Booker with it and theres a new champion. DVD Extras Todd Grisham interviews Lita after her match - This is a good extra Lita talks about how she hated been disrespected by the fans and what happened. She also states about if she will return which she does say never say never. This is a good segment which I do wish Lita will return in the future Lita and Trish are the best WWE Women in WWE because they would wrestle. Mr. McMahon's Kiss My Ass Cartoon - This was featured on wwe.com it's not bad its just weird. If you have not seen it look for it as it will be on the internet somewhere maybe still on wwe.com Main Event of Survivor Series '87 [Hulk Hogan, Bam Bam Bigelow, Paul Orndorff, Ken Patera & Don Muraco vs. Andre the Giant, Rick Rude, One Man Gang, Butch Reed & King Kong Bundy] - This match features JBL and Michael Coal doing commentary and to be honest I hate 80's wrestling I like it back from 1997 up to now. Overall: I think Survivor Series 2006 is a bit disappointing as I still find 2001 and 2002 are highly the best. The matches on this just could of been great and some just felt like a pure let down. But I will tell you the best matches I thought of this event so here we go Undertaker VS Kennedy, Team Rated RKO VS Team D-X, King Booker VS Batista, Mickie James VS Lita was quite good. WWE did improve by adding an extra match but to be honest I would of liked to have seen some of Kennedy's segments on The Undertaker as they were great. Something I do enjoy is JBL's commentary some of the stuff he comes up with is funny which makes it entertaining and enjoyable to watch. If you do collect WWE DVD's like me it is worth adding to the collection. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
The Biggest WWE event of the year
Posted : 1 year, 3 months ago on 19 July 2008 08:39
(A review of WWE - WrestleMania 24)WrestleMania 24 was at Citrus Bowl in Orlando Florida now the arena was awesome it was out doors watch just made it so great during matches you notice it get from light to dark which just adds a more awesome effect. The matches on the DVD are better then what previous WrestleMania's had on offer such as been disappointed with at Mania's like 23 and 22. This one just has better quality matches and some which were just OK. Now lets get on with the matches. Belfast Brawl Finlay vs. JBL This was a good way to start of an event like WrestleMania I found it enjoyable both Finlay and JBL are good wrestlers. Trash Cans and such are used in the match which makes it better to me as I like Hardcore wrestling. As for the winner of the match I was happy. (7/10) Money in the Bank Ladder Match Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. John Morrison vs. Carlito vs. CM Punk vs. MVP vs. Mr Kennedy This was such a good match not the best WrestleMania 21 still has the best Money in the Bank Ladder match in my opinion. Shelton Benjamin offers some great movies during the match as well as Jericho and CM Punk. I was impressed with John Morrison doing a moonsalt from the top with a ladder hitting the rest of the opponents this is one thing Morrison is great at Ladder Matches. This is highly enjoyable to any wrestling fan. (9/10) Battle for Brand Supremacy Batista vs. Umaga As for this match I did not like it William Regal says Umanga when it is Umaga thats not whats bad about it though. It just offers the same stuff Batista delivers I don't mind Batista or even Umaga but I think Umaga should of at least got the win this year. (5/10) ECW Championship Match Chavo Guerrero (Champion) vs. Kane A very short match lasts or 8 to 12 seconds a chokeslam to Chavo and thats it he is out this type of match is just not the place for WrestleMania and it also feels pointless Joey Styles and Tazz doing Commentary on the match. (1/10) Career Threatening Match Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels If you want a classic match with 2 great wrestlers then this is one Ric Flair VS Shawn Michaels. I have to admit I am not a fan of Ric Flair I never have been but he does offer a good match and yes it was sad the ending. (8/10) Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjack Match Maria & Ashley vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina I did not even watch this match because Snoop Dogg was featured in it and it features divas I don't care about. WWE Championship Triple Threat Match Randy Orton (Champion) vs. John Cena vs. Triple H John Cena has headlined the last 2 WrestleMania's and finally Randy Orton headlines it been the Champion I like Triple H and Orton and dislike Cena but this match was good but it just finishes in my mind with a cheap shot but still happy that Orton came out on top because he should of. I had to also say that Cena did do well in the match and did offer some different moves. (8.5/10) The Biggest vs. The Best Big Show vs. Floyd "Money" Mayweather We all knew who was going to win this match Floyd Mayweather I wanted Big Show to win and was this match fair no it was not. Floyd could not beat big show with his hands he had to use Brass Knucks which to me thats a cheap shot. Big Show does well during the match and overall it was good. I just wish I was at WrestleMania as when Mayweather was coming to the ring money was coming down. (7/10) World Heavyweight Championship Match Edge (Champion) vs. The Undertaker To me this was match of the night not only did Edge prove he was worthy of been in the main event but he also showed how good he could compete with The Undertaker. Edge gets out of many of Undertaker's moves and Undertaker shows shows his best side during the match. Overall this is exciting and it does not even matter if you hate Edge or Undertaker you got to respect the effort of these 2 wrestlers during the match. The promo before the match started was just good which no other wrestling company can make promos better then WWE it really gets you into look forward to the match. The Undertaker is now 16-0 we knew he would win. (9.5/10) The DVD also features 2 extras yeah only 2 I would not class them as extras really maybe if it showed some backstage footage, even promos, interviews with the winners and no none of that is here on this 3 disc set. The hall of fame is OK it's not something I am interested in but The Rock's speech is worth watching it was funny and what Rock said to John Cena yeah he got what was coming to him. Ric Flair also tells us about many moments. As for what else is included is the 24 man other the top Battle Royle for a match for the ECW Championship this match was featured on wwe.com which was good I won't go into detail with that because you know Kane got the ECW Championship title match on WrestleMania. So the Disc set up this year has changed on Disc 1 has WrestleMania 24 which ends off after the WWE Championship match. It continues on Disc 2 with Mayweather VS Big Show and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. After WrestleMania ends on Disc 2 comes the first part of the WWE Hall of Fame 2008. On Disc 3 is the final part of Hall of Fame 2008 with the 24-man Battle Royle. This is WrestleMania which without any good extras it really makes the DVD feel rushed and that WWE put no effort in at all they really do need to put more extras in the releases. This DVD is a must buy and as I said it is a whole lot better then WrestleMania 22 and 23 for WWE collectors this a must have in your collection. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
Triple H is the King of Kings
Posted : 1 year, 5 months ago on 26 May 2008 11:04
(A review of WWE - Triple H: King of Kings)Triple H one of WWE's biggest wrestlers a 12 time champion now here is his DVD The King of Kings. I am happy to own the DVD it has some great matches on what a whole load of matches and history not on here. Triple H and The Rock not a single match at all this is due to The Rock's Three disc DVD coming out which the matches will feature on there. I would of liked Triple H VS The Rock from Summerslam 1998 which was a ladder match why this was missing maybe down to WWE releasing The whole Summerslam boxset it would of been nice though to add that match. The DVD features some great matches even though I already have them on some of my other WWE DVD's it is nice to own them on this collection. So here are my favorite matches on the DVD. No Holds Barred WWE Championship Match Triple H vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin No Mercy (17/10/99) Career vs. WWE Title Hell in a Cell Match Triple H vs. Cactus Jack No Way Out (27/02/00) 2 out of 3 Falls for the World Heavyweight Championship Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels Armageddon (15/12/02) Hell in a Cell for the World Heavyweight Championship Batista vs. Triple H Vengeance (26/06/05) Last Man Standing Match Ric Flair vs. Triple H Survivor Series (27/11/05) Those are my favorite on this DVD I did enjoy the extra which featured a match with Henry O. Godwinn in a Hog Pen match it's really good. As much as the cover say it features commentary with Triple H only one match which is Triple H 1st professional match which you know not in great quality. I would of like to have herd Triple H do commentary on every match I like to here what there thoughts were about the match. Another match which should of been added and this is one of the best Triple H VS Cactus Jack from Royal Rumble 2000 that was classic but I own the WWF release of that anyway. The DVD is still good but it's Triple H this guy should be getting a 3 disc DVD set not 2. But no doubt Triple H is one of my all time favorite wrestlers which the important thing is I did enjoy the set just more matches needed to be added. This DVD however is better then The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin that was disappointing. A WWE DVD collector needs to add this to their collection.9/10 0 comments, Reply to this entry
The History of Undertaker

(A review of WWE Tombstone - History of the Undertaker)This is Undertaker's DVD which does not feature a documentary just a history of matches of Undertaker's career but the DVD is still great anyway. My favorite matches on this DVD Fully Loaded 1999 - First Blood Match vs. Stone Cold - This match is great it features Vince McMahon on commentary which is funny at times. This is a really interesting match the logo blurring is not that bad during the match. No Mercy 2002 - Hell in a Cell Match vs. Brock Lesnar - This is another great match Brock Lesnar was a great wrestler in WWE and watching this match is just really good. Unforgiven 1998 - Inferno Match vs. Kane - This match is a classic but I now have these on other DVD's which I have it 3 times and also have it on VHS. Alot happens during the match which I will not go into detail you may have seen the match or not. King of the Ring 1998 - Hell in a Cell Match vs. Mankind - The best on this DVD this is what I bought the DVD for in the first place. Mankind aka Mick Foley been thrown off the cell that was amazing and then been chokeslammed through the cage it was unbelievable then Mankind's mouth full with blood it was a fantastic match. This match alone is worth owning on DVD. The logo blurring is alright. I really don't need to go on about this DVD anymore it is worth having just a shame because I really did want to know the background of the Undertaker real name Mark Callaway. But any WWE fan should have this DVD even if you hate him you cannot take away the fact that Undertaker is one of the best wrestlers in history. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
