WWE Royal Rumble 2008

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 25 May 2008 04:58 (A review of WWE Royal Rumble 2008)

The Royal Rumble one of the biggest events of the year which was good yet disappointing and what I mean is some weak matches and some bad editing.

Career Threatening Match [Ric Flair vs. MVP] - I like MVP but I really hate Ric Flair he is to old and boring but trust me if you like the nature boy then watch it if not I would skip it.

Chris Jericho vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield - This is where editing takes place right in this very match but believe me it is a really good match. The ending happens near the end this is where Jericho made a mistake you will notice the editing back the crowd cheering then a loud booing noise covers up the editing then changes back to cheering. I like steel chairs been smacked over heads and blood which this contains so it is worth watching.

World Heavyweight Championship Match [Edge vs. Rey Mysterio] - This match is good Edge been heel is great but I do think Rey Mysterio is a great wrestler and the build up to the match as not very good but this match is quite good.

WWE Championship Match [Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy] - This match is good you really see how Jeff earned this match he's worked hard to get to a main event singles match and believe me it is a good match. I like both Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy. There is editing again on this Mike Adamle made a mistake in the live event but saying Jeff Hardy's name wrong only WWE chopped it out.

Royal Rumble Match - One of the biggest events of the year which will take a wrestler to WrestleMania 30 men battle it out. This match starts with 2 good wrestlers Undertaker and Shawn Michaels why so early I will never know. The outcome of the match for me is poor only for John Cena to be number 30 and win the dam thing shame I wanted Triple H to win. Anyway the rumble is good and even if you hate Cena it is worth watching. The funny thing was John Cena won that rumble but never won the main event at Wrestlemania what a waste but some what funny.

Extras

Home Video Exclusive: Triple H Talks To John Cena Post Royal Rumble Match

Intercontinental Championship Match - RAW January 14, 2008 [Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton] - A good extra what we need is an extra match this is not really a match but it is great that it was added here. The picture is not so great but this match has Jeff Hardy doing a sawnton bomb from the titantron on to Randy Orton good just the camera angle kind of sucks. This is great to add to it

Overall: The event has it fair share of poor matches and good matches it should of added more to the event as the extras these are really piss poor should of been more added but WWE never do that those tight bastards (sorry for my swearing). The DVD is in a Steel Book (Steel case) which is great to add into my WWE collection and anyone who has one or starting one. I will give it a 7/10.

Worst matches

Career Threatening Match [Ric Flair vs. MVP]
World Heavyweight Championship Match [Edge vs. Rey Mysterio]

Good matches
The Royal Rumble match
WWE Championship Match [Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy]
Chris Jericho vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
7/10

Matt Hardy's story very interesting

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 8 May 2008 02:16 (A review of Ultimate Insiders - Hardy Boys - Behind The Enigma)

I bought this DVD for £4 at ASDA a good DVD to Matt Hardy's story i bought this for mainly i wanted to hear more on the break up of him and Lita and it is here in a lot of detail so pick it up if you see it cheap.

Jeff Hardys story is about him going to TNA it is short only just under an hour then it features some pretty bad tracks of Jeff Hardy singing.

The DVD also contains the Hardy's early matches which is done with a cheap camera and the picture kind of sucks and bit hard to watch. While Matt done this DVD he was not in WWE this was done while he was released from the company which Matt goes into more detail so as i said buy it for the Matt Hardy story it's really interesting.

Best event from Smackdown

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 8 May 2008 01:41 (A review of Wwe - Armageddon 2006)

Armageddon 2006 had to be one of the best ppv's of 2006 every match was almost a classic well you had the divas with a boring segment and a match with Cena which i had to say was bad.

The event has it's great matches which i do include.

Inferno Match - Kane vs. MVP
A good way to start of the event though i thought it was best keeping this near to the end an interesting match. MVP really did a good job and showed how good of a wrestler he is.

WWE Tag Team Championship - 4-Way Ladder Match - Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor vs. MNM vs. the Hardys

This match made this event and really it's mostly down to The Hardys and MNM without them this mach would of been bad. The Hardys give some very exciting action all the through the match along with MNM and Joey Mercury getting his nose broke all that blood all over. The great thing is even though Joey Mercury has to leave the match Johnny Nitro takes the match himself and he is fantastic. You know I am not a Johnny Nitro fan but if you put that guy in a ladder match he really makes it a great match which certainly makes it your moneys worth. Regal and Taylor were boring because it is not their style of match and you can tell. London and Kendrick i hate this team but they did a decent job but should of not won. The Hardy's should of won they were the real wrestlers during this match. But trust me Joey Mercury close up on his face is quite disturbing it is one of the most shocking pieces of footage I have seen in WWE history.

Last Ride Match - Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy

I am a Ken Kennedy fan because of his entertainment and this guy a great at wrestling. This match is good and exciting all the way through The Undertaker gets thrown of the Armageddon titantron and Kennedy getting a tombstone on the limo great stuff all the way in this match.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match - Gregory Helms vs. Jimmy Wang Yang

Not the best of matches but Jimmy Wang Yang aka Akio is a good wrestler and when you have Gregory Helms but in the match you get an even better match this one was good.

The matches I never found interesting

United States Championship Match - Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero

I don't care for this match i like hardcore mostly just this style of match is like any others. Chavo i find a bit boring and Chris Benoit well OK.

Boogeyman vs. the Miz

I like Boogeyman i find him entertaining but the Miz is an idiot and he's boring this match is over fast and you know who won i don't need to go on. But I did find it funny the Boogeyman putting worms in the Miz moth disgusting but funny.

Naughty Or Nice Lingerie Contest - Kristal vs. Layla vs. Jillian vs. Ashley

A good PPV and trash to fill up a good show a like the WWE divas but this is nothing Lingerie contest not important. This segment even gets worst even it comes to Big Dick Johnson doing a dance well this sucks and it's sick. If you want a diva that can wrestle look at Trish Stratus or Lita the best 2 WWE divas who were in WWE shame they left, because the diva division sucks all it's about is eye candy.

Batista & John Cena vs. King Booker & Finlay

Boring match which is not important why this was the main event i will never know. I don't even want to go into detail with it.

Special Feature

1st Inferno Match - Unforgiven 1998 - Undertaker vs. Kane

This match is good but i have this on previous DVD's but nice to have a again. This is the best Inferno match there is I don't even want to explain it because any WWE fan should of seen this.

Thats all your extras on this DVD non others and why i don't know i would of liked to have seen some interviews and what happened with MVP that would of been good to see an update after MVP been set on fire. What about the aftermath of Joey Murcury after getting the ladder right in his nose.

Well why did WWE have to make this event so good well after the fail of ECW December to Mismember they had to. Overall WWE Armageddon 2006 is the best event Smackdown has to offer believe that it's true which makes it in my opinion the best event of the year which needs to be in your DVD collection.

Skins Series 2 a must have DVD

Posted : 1 year, 6 months ago on 5 May 2008 02:19 (A review of Skins: Complete Series 2 [2007])

Skins Series 2 is a lot more serious then Series 1 but this is just as good with a few shocks put into the series and ome sad moments.

My favorite episode is the one with Sid because it was interesting and a bit shocking it's because Mike Bailey is a great actor he plays Sid. Tony's episode is good one also. There is sadness in Jal's episode but this one is brilliant one of the best in the series. The last episode sees the final of the Skins cast as a new one will replace them. Cassie episode which is on disc 3 is a really sad one but overall great acting from all the cast Chris just makes it a sad one check that one out and you will know what i mean.

The DVD features great extras such as Skins in New York, The Skins Secret party, Interviews which are all good extras.

This is worth buying this 3 disc DVD this is classic TV and British TV at it's very best.

Wrestling at it's best

Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 14 April 2008 09:14 (A review of WWE - Rob Van Dam - One of a Kind)

This DVD was fantastic i had bought it a long time ago but just never watched it but i enjoyed it. RVD has a whole lot of talent and here you see some of the best matches of RVD most from his ECW days which come out as some of the best.

His WCW days don't really show that much of great things about him as Robbie V as these matches are boring. Some of my favorite matches from the DVD was when he vs. Jerry Lynn it was great how both men pulled this match off. It has matches from WWE showing some brilliant ladder matches with Christian and Jeff Hardy.

If you like RVD and the old ECW days you will enjoy this 2 disc DVD because RVD is one of a kind.

Not the Best more like worst

Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 14 April 2008 09:03 (A review of WWE - The Best of Intercontinental Championship)

WWE cash in on an old VHS from 1993 to show you the best of the Intercontinental Championship of 1992-93. This only features 5 matches what what i can say non of them are good.

All 4 matches feature Shawn Michaels while only 1 shows Bret "Hitman" Hart. Why did WWE release this they should of just made a a new WWE DVD showing the best intercontinental champion matches but no WWE release this too make quick cash. Without of a doubt this is one of the worst WWE DVD's i have seen it is boring and not worth the money i only own this DVD as i got it in a box set with 2 others. Just skip this one.

Great but some stuff missing

Posted : 1 year, 7 months ago on 13 April 2008 10:29 (A review of WWE - The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin)

This DVD is good but i could not say that WWE have put Stone Cold's best matches on this DVD. Matches i am talking about Bret Hart VS Stone Cold in a submission match that was classic. Jake the Snake Roberts where Austin beats him to win King of The Ring cut from the DVD i could go on about more been cut. The DVD feels rushed i never cared about ECW, WCW parts only WWE but so much feels missing.

Disc 3 comes out as the best with 2 matches featuring The Rock and the best one at Wrestle Mania 17. Then my favorite Stone Cold match of all time 3 out of 2 falls Stone Cold VS Triple H awesome match.

The problem with this is the blurs Stone Cold sticks his middle finger up there is blurs WWF blurs to much and spoils the action it really does. The swearing is cut out and here in the UK the rating is 18 and over the swearing and middle finger references should be shown.

The DVD though is worth watching and has some Stone Cold classics but check out other like the McMahon DVD and others of Stone Cold's DVD's for the missing matches.

The extras come out weak with missing stuff such as segments i would have liked some of the What segments that Stone Cold did but these are missing and any of the WCW and ECW invasion is also cut i don't know why.

The thing is though if you are a WWE collector you have to add this in your collection i just had to.

The best of Raw on 4 discs

Posted : 1 year, 9 months ago on 1 March 2008 04:10 (A review of WWE - The Best of RAW 15th Anniversary)

Raw 15th finally came to the UK thanks to Silver Vision the DVD was released on February 28th. Raw 15th Anniversary is a good DVD has some great footage of classic moments though some i feel were not needed on the DVD. The DVD features pop ups on segments and matches telling you information people on amazon found it annoying i never found a problem with this at all i liked them on there.

This has classic moments such as Stone Cold Steve Austin invading Brian Pillman's home, DX invading WCW, Stone Cold meets Mike Tyson, Mick Foley and Al Snow go to Las Vegas, Rock this is your life etc.

Then there is other moments which are not needed such as Cena been drafted to Raw, Goldust kissing Ahmed Johnson, Chris Jericho been fired.

The amount of content been cut from Raw the year of 2001 only shows 2 moments from that year. The year of 2000 only showing 1 moment. The disc of 2003 - 2008 really seems rushed and some classic Raw matches have not been added.

This match should of been added Rob Van Dan vs Eddie Guerrero in a ladder match it was not added Eddie Guerrero non of him appears on this DVD which he did have some good matches on Raw. Another great match that should of been added Rob Van Dam vs Christian in a ladder match which was fantastic but both matches are featured on Rob Van Dam's DVD anyway. Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker in a ladder match should of been featured as this in my mind was one of Raw's classics.

The DVD insert also shows you a moment with Triple H and Hornswoggle but this does not even appear on the DVD at all. If you ask me the Raw 15th show should of been released with this package.

Classic moments like Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon in the church was cut out of the DVD. Kane and Undertaker throwing the steel steps on Vince McMahon's leg which was funny is cut out which is a shame.

The DVD trys to add more value with giving you the Full show of the 1st ever Monday Night Raw which features interviews with wrestlers such as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Edge, Jim Ross. I never found the show all that great the matches i found pretty boring but Bobby Heenan will make you laugh with some good segments trying to get into the arena.

If you still have the Best of Raw DVD vol 1 & 2 that has a whole lot more detail of 1997 - 1999 i recommend buying the DVD if you can find it because it is hard to get that DVD now.

So to wrap this up this DVD is entertaining and has some funny moments even though Todd Grisham more get on your nerves presenting this show. I don't know why not get Michael Coal or even Jonathan Coachman to present the DVD they are were better. The DVD show of went more in depth though most is down to lazy editing with cutting the F out of the WWF logo and due to some of Chris Benoit which is one of the reasons why more footage is out the DVD, one of which Triple H injuring his leg would of been on the disc i would of thought but down to Chris Benoit it never made it to the disc which p**ed me off because that match was good. The radicals team coming to WWE i would of loved to have seen again but thanks to Chris Benoit going crazy it's not even on these disc's

This DVD is worth buying for any serious WWE collector.

Gothika [Region 2] review

Posted : 1 year, 9 months ago on 19 February 2008 02:07 (A review of Gothika [Region 2])

Gothika was pretty good the acting was alright Robert Downey Jr i found was a little boring. Penelope Cruz plays a really good part and Halle Berry not bad.
The movie has some good twists put into it with a good ending and some really good effects it is worth a look at.
