A ps2 masterpiece comes to Wii

Posted : 16 years, 1 month ago on 17 March 2008 05:29 (A review of Bully: Scholarship Edition)

Bully finally made it's way to the Wii if you did play the PS2 version of this classic game Canim Canis Edit your getting the same game if extras added to the game with a whole different control system. You would of never thought that Nintendo would license a game like this to be on there system but they did which is just brilliant.

Extras included in Bully Scholarship edition is eight new missions, four new school classes which are biology, music, math and geography, additional characters, new unlockable items and clothing there is also games for 2 players which i have not tried as i don't use my Wii for 2 players.

Now you know the extras let me tell you about the story. You play as Jimmy Hopkins a boy which is rude and can be nasty. Jimmy's mother is getting sick of him and his step father not liking him send Jimmy to a boarding school called Bullworth Academy. Jimmy's mother and stepfather leave him there while they go on a holiday for a year. As soon as you enter the school you meet the head of the school who gives a Jimmy a good old talk.

Bully has different people in the game you will meet and help Jocks they are sport type of guys cocky and will try and fight you, Nerds scared and most times will need Jimmy's help, Greasers they are a bit silly and full of themselves, Preppies these do boxing and are posh and will turn on you quickly, Townies you will meet these near the end of the game horrible people and scruffy and will start you for no reason oh i they don't go to school, Prefects these will try to send you to class, send you to bed they spend there time looking around for people doing wrong stuff, Police these will send you back to school or send you to the police station for nicking off etc.

The game features little games in bully you can go on arcade machines and play racing, you go in the carnival and play on some of the rides like the roller coaster, go karts, shooting targets there's a few more to and it has a freak show in the carnival too and a fun house which you will be only to play during one mission.

The game has weapons as you will find baseball bats, eggs, slingshot you may find others. It has transportation a school bus, Scooters (though the cops will catch you without a helmet, bikes, skateboard.

As for the map it's the same as the PS2 version and for the Wii this is fantastic and the game looks great on the system better graphics i recommend people to get the Wii version over the 360 version due to many faults. The Wii version plays good and not once had a problem with the game yet.

Now let me talk about the new classes in the game Biology will see you cutting into a frog, fish and others. Music will see you making music of course. Math will see you adding, taking away, multiplying, objects on what is faster, slower. Geography which i hate you have to get the flags and put them in the right place if you mess up it will take 5 seconds off your time limit.

The Wii control system does work very well with this game and does a fantastic job when it comes to doing boxing because it works more better then Wii Sports boxing and it's more enjoyable. It is great that the Wii control system has been worked on so well i have not noticed anything bad about it even with the classes it does great and makes mini games much easier then the PS2 version.

Bully is an easy game i finished the PS2 version in a few days but this game does keep you hooked to it and you will even come back to play it again because it is just that fun.

Bully is just like Grand Theft Auto just without the guns and puts you in a kids position which is really fun to see. If you only own the Wii this is the closest game of Grand Theft Auto you will come across. Rockstar games is one of the best games company's there is which proves it with this game this is a pure classic gem. The Wii version is the best you will find of this game. I am not going to go to in depth of the story as i don't want to spoil it for the people who have not play the game but check it out and enjoy it.

Bully i have to say 10/10 it's a classic and one of the only games that can keep me playing.

Great Show

Posted : 16 years, 1 month ago on 17 March 2008 04:10 (A review of Spaced)

Spaced is a great show starting Simon Pegg as Tim and Jessica Stevenson now Jessica Hynes who plays daisy these two both write the show. Well Tim and Daisy both meet in cafe Daisy looking for a flat mate every day their friendship is getting better. Daisy then finds a flat but the advert says it's for couples so Daisy and Tim pretend to be a couple so they can get the flat. Thats the the beginning of the series.

We meet other people Marsha Klein who is played by Julia Deakin she is the landlady of the house and she always seems drunk. Brian Topp who is played by Mark Heap lives on the bottom floor a bit of a weird guy who makes art and has something going on with Marsha. Mike Watt played by Nick Frost is Tim's best friend and is an Army guy who is a funny character. Then there is Twist Morgan played by Katy Carmichae who is daisy's best friend.
Not forgetting Colin who is Daisy's pet dog the dog's real name is Ada but also seen on Spaced as Aida.
The show is directed from the man who brought you Hot Fuzz and Shaun of The Dead Edgar Write

This show is great which any someone who has Virgin Media TV can watch it for free anytime Spaced series 1 and 2 on the Virgin on demand part of 4OD.

Great Movie but cannot beat Hot Fuzz

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 2 March 2008 08:39 (A review of Shaun of the Dead)

Shaun of the Dead was a funny movie but it cannot beat Hot Fuzz. If Resident Evil was like this then that would be awesome.
The whole plot of the story is Shaun played by Simon Pegg and his best friend Ed played by Nick Frost. Shawn girlfriend Liz has dumped him. Now Shawn and Ed find zombies in there back garden at there home and now it's up to a group of people to save themselves and get away from the zombies.
The movie is worth checking out as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost together they offer a good amount of laughs in the movie.

Miss It not worth watching

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 2 March 2008 12:51 (A review of Gavin & Stacey)

This is one of the worst programs that i have seen it was boring and unfunny. The cast look like they try so hard to even make it funny. I think its terrible how you pay for a TV license from a terrible show from the BBC it sucks. I find it just as bad as The Office. The show is to over hyped and most of the people who find it funny i am guessing they don't even know humor AVOID this and watch a real show Skins.

The best of Raw on 4 discs

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 1 March 2008 10:10 (A review of WWE - The Best of RAW 15th Anniversary)

Raw 15th finally came to the UK thanks to Silver Vision the DVD was released on February 28th. Raw 15th Anniversary is a good DVD has some great footage of classic moments though some i feel were not needed on the DVD. The DVD features pop ups on segments and matches telling you information people on amazon found it annoying i never found a problem with this at all i liked them on there.

This has classic moments such as Stone Cold Steve Austin invading Brian Pillman's home, DX invading WCW, Stone Cold meets Mike Tyson, Mick Foley and Al Snow go to Las Vegas, Rock this is your life etc.

Then there is other moments which are not needed such as Cena been drafted to Raw, Goldust kissing Ahmed Johnson, Chris Jericho been fired.

The amount of content been cut from Raw the year of 2001 only shows 2 moments from that year. The year of 2000 only showing 1 moment. The disc of 2003 - 2008 really seems rushed and some classic Raw matches have not been added.

This match should of been added Rob Van Dan vs Eddie Guerrero in a ladder match it was not added Eddie Guerrero non of him appears on this DVD which he did have some good matches on Raw. Another great match that should of been added Rob Van Dam vs Christian in a ladder match which was fantastic but both matches are featured on Rob Van Dam's DVD anyway. Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker in a ladder match should of been featured as this in my mind was one of Raw's classics.

The DVD insert also shows you a moment with Triple H and Hornswoggle but this does not even appear on the DVD at all. If you ask me the Raw 15th show should of been released with this package.

Classic moments like Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon in the church was cut out of the DVD. Kane and Undertaker throwing the steel steps on Vince McMahon's leg which was funny is cut out which is a shame.

The DVD trys to add more value with giving you the Full show of the 1st ever Monday Night Raw which features interviews with wrestlers such as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Edge, Jim Ross. I never found the show all that great the matches i found pretty boring but Bobby Heenan will make you laugh with some good segments trying to get into the arena.

If you still have the Best of Raw DVD vol 1 & 2 that has a whole lot more detail of 1997 - 1999 i recommend buying the DVD if you can find it because it is hard to get that DVD now.

So to wrap this up this DVD is entertaining and has some funny moments even though Todd Grisham more get on your nerves presenting this show. I don't know why not get Michael Coal or even Jonathan Coachman to present the DVD they are were better. The DVD show of went more in depth though most is down to lazy editing with cutting the F out of the WWF logo and due to some of Chris Benoit which is one of the reasons why more footage is out the DVD, one of which Triple H injuring his leg would of been on the disc i would of thought but down to Chris Benoit it never made it to the disc which p**ed me off because that match was good. The radicals team coming to WWE i would of loved to have seen again but thanks to Chris Benoit going crazy it's not even on these disc's

This DVD is worth buying for any serious WWE collector.

Hard Candy is a must see

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 23 February 2008 08:13 (A review of Hard Candy)

Hard Candy was a great movie which leaves you saying was he the bad one or was she really bad. This movie also had it's great scenes even though most violent scenes appear off camera what you can see the pain in Jeff's face who is played by Patrick Wilson. The castration scene was a little bit sick but he give it a good job on that i have to say after cutting you know what yes his balls you see are doing horrible things with them. Ellen Page now she also had a good part in this movie she gets you to believe her most times. Sandra Oh only appears in the one scene i can't really say much about her.
This movie is worth watching i enjoyed it and stuff like this with meeting people off the Internet can really happen and thats one of the points the movie is trying to send out.

Movies like this make England great

Posted : 16 years, 2 months ago on 21 February 2008 12:33 (A review of Hot Fuzz)

Hot Fuzz i thought was a good comedy Nick Frost i thought was the funniest with a lot of good jokes which actually made me laugh. Simon Pegg also did a great job better then other movies.
My favorite scene is in Somerfield Supermarket because it was just a fun scene to watch and entertaining.
The movie also featured David Threlfall who plays Frank in Channel 4's drama Shameless who plays a small part as Martin Blower. A lot of people you may recognize in the movie. Worth watching. The 2 disc DVD is a must buy.
